I am Kim Hall and I am the Pre-K teacher. I started with Rhythm & Rhymes as a floater and have worked with every age group from infants through 5 years old.

After my second child was born, I wanted to change career paths, which consisted of factory work and being a retail cashier. I enrolled in Child Development classes at the community college. That is when I began working on my CDA Certification. This required a particular number of hours in a classroom, which prompted me to volunteer at the local Head Start. I was there as a volunteer for 2 years before I was hired as a center assistant in 1992. After 5 years as the assistant, I transferred to a charter school where I remained until the school closed in 2014. During those years, I completed my CDA certification, completed paraprofessional training, took more college classes related to early childhood education and was certified in CPR and First Aid. I worked with children from Kindergarten through 6th grade.

I moved to Tennessee to be closer to my son and grandson. I went to work shortly after moving here at Central Pike Christian Daycare in Hermitage as a floater. I was there for about 8 months, where I worked with children of all ages.

What motivates me as a person and as a teacher is trying to help kids build self esteem and confidence as well as preparing them for the challenges of kindergarten. It is a labor of love for me and I’m grateful for and humbled by the opportunity to make a difference in their lives!
